Housed in the Old City Hall and managing the restored 1886 Rail Road Depot, the History Museum of Burke County presents local history and educates the public through regularly changing exhibits and artifacts. The museum highlights the area's cultural and economic development, people and institutions as well as displaying items used in the railroad industry. Old City Hall lies in downtown Morganton approximately a block west of Old Courthouse Square while the Rail Road Depot is a few blocks away on South Green Street.
Old City Hall open Mon. - Fri. 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Rail Road Depot open Wed. - Fri. 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and by appointment.
